Elder Richard G. Scott, for those of you who don't know, is a member of the Quorum of Twelve of Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Elder Scott counseled the students of Brigham Young University on establishing a secure foundation for their lives. A little excerpt that I in particularly thought was interesting:

Alma 7:23 - And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

Elder Scott then said, "In that single verse, Alma gives an extremely effective formula for success and happiness in life."

The plain and simple truths, everywhere, just open up your scriptures and look, listen, then follow.
